concerning awareness generation, community organization,
promotion of community level participatory efforts and
livelihood development – Badlao Foundation, from its long
association with Tribal and Rural poor – has realized the inner
potency of rural masses and witnessing the impact and relevance
of years of sustained efforts for Women Empowerment through
Mahila Sabha at all (five levels – Village, Panchayat, Block,
District and State) levels – could realize to accelerate
socio-economic development activities through promotion of Micro
Finance particularly involving the resource poor rural women –
specifically involving the SHGs of different level Mahila Sabhas.
The promotional efforts of Badlao Foundation, at grass roots
level through promotion of livelihood and economic uplift of
resource poor through different income generating activities and
development of community based united efforts like Cooperatives
and Federations could give an impetus to this venture ensuring
an enabling environment through proper facilitation by Badlao

Samarthan
Weakling Development Foundation
|
|
“Samarthan Weakling Development Foundation” was
established because of development work done by Badlao
Foundation among the tribals, deprived classes in Santhal
Parganas. Since its inception, the organization has been
working with the tribals, dalits, deprived and backward
classes in the area of social economic and political
empowerment with a special focus on women. Despite this
the organization has its limitation i.e. dependence upon
donor organization and government for getting fund to
carry forward its development work. During this successful
25 years, the organization has been able to create social
assets and infrastructural support but failed to create a
corpus fund. That is why Samarthan was set up as a
separate micro – finance organization with the initial
help of Badlao Foundation. Basix a similar organization
with enough experience in the field of Micro- Finance
supported this organization in basic nurturing and
guidance. Samarthan The Weakling Development Foundation
is registered under section 25 of the Company’s
Act, 1956.
Samarthan
Weakling Development Foundation operates – in the
geographical areas of 3 districts of Santhal Parganas
