Santhal Parganas
is a composite landmass where natural resources got gross
negligence from both the state and local community. Large tracts
of land are lying waste and derelict without any proper
management practices. Water is critical to the development of
all land-based natural resources. Despite heavy rainfall in the
region drought continues to run havoc all across, leading to
grass deficit of food and fodder. Badlao Foundation intervened
to capitalize upon ecosystem surplus and successfully
regenerated the resources, which could be produced through
community agriculture to produce adequate food. Some of its
endeavors have brought some trend setting and rather
eye-catching results in different remote and downtrodden areas
of its operation.
Agriculture in Santhal Parganas is
under-developed; hence, for raising the soil fertility,
production of crops, improving crop cycle, enhancing
agro-inputs, conservation of moisture, up-gradation of agronomic
practices and selection of seeds and its usage are few major
intervention areas in sustaining agricultural activities. Badlao

security for the vulnerable in the region to change the
