SCHOOL>>>
Badlao Foundation has set up two model experimental schools, one
at Korapara, Mihijam (Greenwood School), Jamtara District
and the other at Machkol, Jarmundi (Dumka district) and in
Deoghar and Godda districts established Lok Shikshan Kendra
(3 in Godda district – in Sunderpahari Block and 6 in Deoghar
district in Madhupur Block). The aim of this programme is to
mainstream disadvantaged children of 6- 14 years of age in the
Santhal Parganas. The teaching method is joyful learning and
it includes life skill training and personality development.
This has helped enrolling children of slum-dwellers and resource
poor families to avail primary education in a good environment
with the care/support of teachers and caretakers. The school has
following outstanding features :
Multi
-grade teaching through innovative technique.
Establishing strong rapport with community thro’ 52 families –
particularly to promote education among children of slum
dwellers.
Preparation of annual syllabus & routine, developing set of
question papers for annual examination conducting annual
examination.
Physical
training, craft, painting, cultural programme as well as
medical check up of students from time to time.
Wall
painting for awareness generation about school.
Regular
parent-teacher meeting and interface with Govt. line personnel
from time to time.
Celebration of Republic Day and Saraswati Puja etc. to ensure
child to child and child teachers’ interaction more close and
informal.
To achieve
Universal Primary Education; Badlao Foundation has implemented
an education programme in four districts of Santhal Parganas -
Godda, Pakur, Sahebganj and Dumka. The programme has bridge
course, age-specific and tribe specific interventions that
complement Government of India’s Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan or
Universal Education (UEE) programme. The following are the

LOK SHIKSHAN
KENDRAS>>>
Objectives of Lok Shikshan Kendras are basically to
establish and strengthen elementary education in villages
where no school exists. The principal tasks performed
under LSKs are total enrollment of girl children, improve the
quality of education, motivate teachers/volunteers, increasing
awareness of elementary education among parents and
facilitating access to primary education to the deprived and
marginalized children. Supported by KKS – the LSKs have
achieved the following :
