IMPROVE MATERNAL HEALTH:::

The “Sahiyya Movement” Programme of NHRM, has been undertaken by Badlao Foundation since January 2006 covering 118 Panchayats (1056 villages and 1666 tolas) in four blocks, namely Jamtara, Narayanpur, Nala, and Kundahit, of Jamtara district. This has been undertaken with focus on women & children in marginalized sections of community, particularly those in remote, unreachable areas with following features :

  • Covered total of 16 Panchayats (revenue villages : 109, tola : 130).

  • Sensitized/mobilized youths through formation of 156 peer groups.

  • Sensitization on community organization, Reproductive Health to build and enhance capacities of field team.

  • Identified & trained Peer educators on Adolescent Reproductive and Sexual Health (ARSH) to strengthen their capacities in facilitating Reproductive Health and other health related group meetings.

  • Developed and/or procured ARSH information, education and campaign (IEC) materials.

  • Established Youth resource centers.

  • Organized youth awareness camps on ARSH issues.

  • VHCs formed – 1031.

  • Sahiyya identified – 1784.

  • Revenue Villages taken up – 893.

  • Tola (hamlets) taken up– 1193.
