The prominent
effort of Badlao Foundation towards promotion of Child Education
and restoration/protection of Child Rights has been an acclaimed
aspect of its development initiative of grass roots development.
Community development has been geared up keeping child as the
nucleus of all activities undertaken at community level.
Restoring Child Rights with an assured scope for promising
future to children and linking them with the present generation
for a sustained holistic development of community has been the
major aim of Badlao Foundation to pursue child rights and
promoting child supportive environment at all levels. Badlao-CCF
Project is a promising venture in that context.
In Jamtara
district, a holistic child development project with focus on
Children’s right to Health, Nutrition and Education along with
Livelihood support to their families like establishment of
micro-enterprises and providing vocational training for the
youth is undertaken. It is a Child Sponsorship Programme to
provide support to the neediest children with credible
livelihood support to their families.

Badlao
Foundation through an Integrated Child Development Project
is working for the well-being of children from four
Panchayats (Duladih, Supaidih, Saharpura, and Dakinbahal) in
20 villages of Jamtara C.D. block of Jamtara district, Jharkhand.
It aims at improving children’s access to quality education and
public health delivery system and nutritional inputs. Efforts
are also being made to increase the girl children’s school
enrolment and retention, and to strengthen home-based child
caring and health practices.

The Jharkhand Govt. selected
the Badlao Foundation’s Gandhi Ashram at Kewatjali as a
training centre for providing training to grassroots ICDS
functionaries like Aanganbari Sevikas for reducing
child morality and death rate of child and women. For this
purpose, a 30 days-training module is delivered every
month and a separate 8 days orientation programme is
organized. Activities under this programme are based on
following main characteristics of ICDS :

- Total growth of child
- Child Rights
- Equality between girl
child & boy child
- Reaching to more & more
Beneficiaries (Number of women got training under this Jharkhand Govt. Programme is 311 Sevikas and 176
Sahayikas.)
Moreover, to attend the
Main Objective of ICDS i.e. to bring progression in terms
of cloth and food up to 6 years of age, to provide basic
knowledge for a child’s Psychological, Physical and
Societal Growth, to reduce death rate, mental instability
and also to reduce the number of children who were leaving
the schools and to encourage child development following
activities are organized.
